Department of Physiology
- FACILITIES IN THE DEPARTMENT :-
Infrastructure :-
Lecture Hall(1), Demonstration Hall (2), Human Physiology Laboratory (1), Experimental Physiology(Amphibian) Laboratory (1), Clinical Physiology Laboratory (1), Mammalian Physiology Laboratory (1), Exercise and Sports Physiology Laboratory (1), are available in the Department.
Audiovisual Aids: - Computer with printer facility, LCD projector, Over Head Projector (OHP), HMIS with internet facility are available in the Department.
Equipments available: - All necessary equipments required for UG & PG courses as per Medical Council of India are available in the Department.
Service for patient care: - NCV test & PFT test are done daily in the department for the patients which are referred from our hospital S.C.S.M.S.R., Solapur. These tests are carried out in Clinical Physiology laboratory between 9.30 a.m. - 12.30 pm.
1.Nerve Conduction Velocity (NCV) Test: - It is an electrical test used to determine adequacy of conduction of nerve impulse. It is used to assess peripheral nerve damage and dysfunction.
2.Pulmonary Function Tests (PFT):- There are group of tests that measure how well
your lungs work.
Departmental Library :- More than 400 books are available in the library which includes text books of Physiology, reference books, journals, applied physiology books and books on exercise and sports physiology.
Exercise & Sport Physiology Laboratory:- Well equipped Exercise & Sports Physiology Laboratory is available in the department which is dedicated mainly to research purpose. The research includes cardiovascular and muscular responses to exercise and body composition analysis.
Equipments available in Exercise & Sport Physiology laboratory :- 1) Bicycle ergometer. 2) Treadmill 3) Whole body reaction time.4) Audio- visual reaction time.5) Leg & Back Dynamometer 6) Two hand coordination test machine 7) Modified sit & reach test equipment 8) Bench press with free weight.9) Body fat percentage estimation equipment 10) Harvard step test for boys and girls.
