Rules and Regulations

Libraries have rules in place to create a conducive environment for study and research, as well as to preserve their valuable resources.

  • The space in the reading room is not reserved for anyone. Therefore, no one should argue for space and should not disturb others. Sit wherever there is space.
  • It is mandatory to carry an identity card when visiting the library.
  • Group discussion in reading hall is not allowed.
  • All electronic devices like Mobiles, tabs brought into the reading room must be completely silenced.
  • Readers should maintain peace in the reading room and should not disturb other student in any way. Students should maintain an atmosphere of dignity, peace and silence within the reading room premises.
  • Eating food or snacks are not allowed inside the reading room and reading room premises.
  • Take care of your personal belonging. Library is not responsible of any lost or theft of your personal items into reading room area.
  • The arrangements of table, benches and other furniture in the reading room should not be disturbed.
  • Please also note that the 24X7 All Reading Hall is under the CCTV surveillance and the miscreant found guilty will be punished as per Rules.
  • Avoid noise, Mobiles, music, hostility, rudeness, and consumption of food and drink etc. inside the Reading Hall.
  • Do not keep books and other materials on the desk/table and do not leave them on the table. Only the materials required for study should be kept on the table.
  • Lockers should be used to keep all other materials. If you want to get a locker, you should inquire at the library.
  • Don't disrupt the activities of other library users or Staff.
  • Don't threaten personal safety or the security of personal or institute property.
  • Speaking in the Mobile, tab phone is restricted inside the reading hall. Students are allowed to use the mobile phone only for reading and photocopying.
  • Turn off switch of AC, Light & Fan when not in use and save the electricity.
  • Every student must bring Library Card to borrow the Books to home.
  • Tampering with the Books, Journals, Newspaper, Catalogue Cards, Notices, Computers, Furniture, Library Instructions and any kind of library properties is strictly prohibited.
  • Underlying, marking, folding of pages etc. in the books, journals, magazines and newspapers is strictly prohibited.
  • No other work except reading, writing and searching materials through both online and offline would be allowed in the reading room.
  • The students /users can convey their grievance regarding any issue related to the library, verbally or in written to the Librarian or any Library Staff.
  • If the books are returned after due date, then student will be pay fine 5rs. Per day.
  • In case of loss of book, the borrower is required to replace the book by a recent edition.
  • The Central Library may limit or refuse access to individuals or groups who fail to comply with these guidelines.
  • Prepladder Tab should be issued and return in office hours 10am to 5pm. on first cum first serv basis.
